Fiddlin Fish Brewing Company is a family-owned brewery in downtown Winston-Salem with a 15-barrel brewhouse. Stuart and Lindsay Barnhart along with David Ashe started the brewery in 2017. The industrial building is covered with artistic murals and is a relaxing atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy. At times they will close down the street and have live music at the bar across the street and a distillery right in the parking lot.

All of this makes the area of Winston Salem a cool spot on a Friday or Saturday night.

What Types of Beer Does Fiddlin Fish Brewing Have

Fiddlin Fish Brewing has a large variety of beer choices but their menu tends to lean towards sours and lighter beers. However like all breweries you will find some IPA’s if that style is more your taste.

The first beer we tried was their Harper’s Hefeweisen which is a pretty standard beer for the style with a slightly sweet flavor of banana and clove. While this was enjoyable it did not separate itself from others in the area.

Beer two was the Fish Cray New England IPA. This NEIPA was very enjoyable and is one of the most known Fiddlin Fish beer’s. With less bitterness compared to other IPA’s and mellow sweet flavor this one will likely send you back to the bar for round two.

What Does The Inside Tap Room Have To Offer 

Fiddlin Fish Brewery has a large interior with multiple flat screen TVs for your entertainment. There is plenty of seating at tables and bar seating where you can just enjoy the surroundings by viewing all of the murals that have been created by local artists. Fiddlin Fish has a viewing area of their brewing production that visitors can view while trying the variety of brews.

Does Fiddlin Fish Brewing Have Outdoor Seating?

Fiddlin Fish does have an outdoor seating area that is covered to get out of the elements. The exterior of the building is in a courtyard type area where additional businesses, such as a Distillery, share the space.

Does Fiddlin Fish Brewing Serve Food

Fiddlin Fish Brewing Company has a food truck that is available called Tuning Fork Provisions. Unfortunately, the timing in which the food is open or available is not posted.

What Types of Entertainment is Available at Fiddlin Fish

Fiddlin Fish has plenty of entertainment. For those interested in fitness and brews, Fiddlin Fish has a running club on Mondays and they have a biking club on Tuesdays. If fitness is not your thing, Fiddlin Fish Brewing does have Trivia nights and Live Music. The schedule is listed on their website.

Tours are not available at Fiddlin Fish Brewing but you can view their processes behind the glass in the brewery.

Are Kids and Pets Allowed

Fiddlin Fish Brewing Company is a family friendly environment where kids are welcome. Dogs allowed in the outside area but should be on a leash.

Are There Other Drink Options

During our last visit, we did not notice a menu or list of non-alcoholic beverages. We were too focused on the variety of brews. Ask your bartender for options when you are there if you do not prefer beer.

Where Can You Park at Fiddlin Fish

Fiddlin Fish has a few spots for parking directly in front of the building. If there aren’t any available spaces, there is a parking lot across the street (8th street) where there is plenty of room and no fees.

Other Fun Facts About Fiddlin Fish Brewing

Fiddlin Fish has large garage doors to open allowing the outside in on nice weather days. Certain times of year, Fiddlin Fish hosts outdoor events such as a Festival where they close off the immediate parking area. Fiddlin Fish also holds events to help support Stepping Stone Canine Rescue. Look to their website for their next event.

Like most Craft Breweries in the recent years, these family members started with an idea which grew into a business. With their home brew success, they expanded into their own company and began Fiddlin Fish for everyone to enjoy.

Final Review of Fiddlin Fish Brewing 

Fiddlin Fish is perfectly located by two other breweries, a distillery and Earl’s Nashville Style Whiskey Bar. You can park in any of their parking lots and walk between Radar Brewing, Wise Man Brewing, Fiddling Fish, Broad Branch Distillery and finish with dinner at Earls. This unique setup makes this a perfect beer hoping area.

Fiddlin Fish can now be found across North Carolina in Lowe’s Foods and their beer does not disappoint. With their wide variety, large inside area and some outside seating their is plenty of space for larger groups. You will not however be able to take your beer into the distillery across the parking lot and vice versa, because you know, silly city laws and such.

So if you are in the area and looking for a great beer spot, this will be the place for you.
