What Types of Beer Does Southend Brewing Have
South End Brewing has a large variety of beer styles for all beer drinkers. You will find a rotation of Amber Ales, IPA (several styles), some German beers like Hefenweizens, Gose, Pilsners and more. Their beer menu is easily found right behind the bar. They also have a painting on the wall showing which beers are currently in production.
Our favorite beer is the lightest thing they have which is actually named the lightest thing we have. Who says marketing isn’t easy? This option is brewed with German malt for a light crisp flavor, complimented with a hint of floral hop aroma. This one is for easy drinking on summer days. Looking for something heavier? Their Panacea Bock beer is a typical dark style German beer.
To give you a feel, here is a sample menu from South End Brewing.
What Does The Inside Of Southend Brewing Offer
Plenty of tables and chairs are located inside at Southend. There are windows to view their brewing process and a graphic on the wall of what they are creating for your next enjoyment. Local artists have painted the building inside and out to create an artistic feel to enhance your sense of community. During both of our visits, the inside had a relaxed atmosphere and only a few tv’s for watching sports games.
Does Southend Brewing Have Outdoor Seating?
Southend Brewing has a great outdoor space. You can choose to sit out on the front side of the building to people watch or there is a large section behind the building with plenty of seating for larger parties. Either space has only a partial cover to get out of the elements. To stay warm, there are fire pits to huddle around.
The front faces the Boxcar Bar and Arcade’s outdoor seating area which often has live music playing for an added entertainment option.
Does Southend Brewing Serve Food
Southend Brewing has a good variety of foods such as shareables, specialty fries, sandwiches, salads and wraps. We crave their loaded fries with brisket….mouth is currently watering. Their kitchen is small but we’ve never found there to be much wait for their food.
You can view their current food menu on their website.
Entertainment – Of Course
There is entertainment on certain days of the week and you can see specifics on their social media sites. Trivia nights, yoga, running club, karaoke and more specialty events are listed on their website.
Southend also consistently brings in live music on the weekends for even more fun and enjoyment.
Are Tours Available at Southend Brewing
At this time there is no mention of tours at Southend. However, it might be worth asking at the bar if you are one who really loves to look at big shiny metal beer vats.
Are Kids and Pets Allowed
Southend is kid friendly both inside and out. We have only ever seen dogs outside and their website does not mention anything about being dog friendly inside.
Are There Other Drink Options
Ciders, Seltzers, Wine, and non-alcoholic drinks such as soda are available.
Does Southend Have Parking Available
Southend Brewing does not have its own parking lot but there is a large public parking right next to the building across the old (unused) train tracks which can be accessed by West Lewis Street.
Other Fun Facts About Southend Brewing
Across the street is Boxcar Bar and Arcade for all of your gaming needs. Boxcar also has brick-over pizza and entertainment. This location does allow kids during the day and becomes and adult only arcade and bar at night.
Down the road is Little Brother Brewing and Natty Green’s Pub and Brewing. You can park behind Southend and visit all three with an easy walk.
Final Review of Southend Brewing
This is another quality brewery in the downtown Greensboro area and one we have visited several times. With their relaxed inside atmosphere and more lively outdoor Southend offers an option for everyone. The ability to park and visit two other breweries during your visit makes the area unique. Their staff has always been pleasant and lines for beer move quickly. Regardless of your beer style preference, you will find something to drink as we have not found any bad beer options on their menu.
