Booneshine Brewing Company

One of the newest brewery options in North Carolina’s most popular skiing region, Booneshine is just off the main road in an industrial complex. Unlike many others who repurpose old buildings, Booneshine built a brand new location but made sure it fits in with the surrounding warehouses. With a menu full of great food options inside and a small food truck outside there is no shortages of great options whether for dinner or a mid afternoon snack to compliment your beer.

We’ve found ourselves here twice recently and neither visit disappointed. Below we cover their beer styles, seating, entertainment and everything you may be wondering before heading out to this great new brewery.

What Types of Beer Does Booneshine Brewery Have

Their beer list is constantly changing due to them having small batch sizes. Booneshine has a beer for everyone with a large list that contains IPA’s, Pilsner, Porter, Stout, and Wheat beer. Some specialty beers like Oatmeal Stouts and Whiskey Barrel may be on tap when you visit.

We tried several and found most were enjoyable and matched the flavor profile expect of the style of beer.

What Does The Inside Have To Offer

The tasting room has a large number of tables where you see a hostess to be seated. If the weather is nice, there is also an outdoor spot with tables that is included in hostess seating. The bar is first come first serve. Even to just enjoy a beer, you need to see the hostess to get a table. You can belly up to the bar, order your beer, and take it outside to sit in their Beer Garden.

Booneshine has well kept bathrooms located inside the tasting room.

Does Booneshine Brewery Have Outdoor Seating?

The Beer Garden is an open area near the main building which has plenty of picnic tables and chairs to just relax. These are first come first serve so in the warm sun, the umbrellas are a hot commodity. You may also bring your own chairs so you don’t have to stalk fellow beer drinkers. There is also a beer tent located outside so you do not have to walk back inside each time.

Does Booneshine Brewery Serve Food

Tasting Room – Full menu for appetizers, salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, desert, and a kids menu – Can order EVERY beer they offer

Beer Garden – A smaller selection of snacks, sandwiches, deserts, and kids menu. Choose your “truck” wisely for beer since they don’t carry the same beer and you have to pay on two different bills if you go between the two. We don’t consider this a true downfall but want to ensure everyone knows in case you are very picky on how many times you swipe a credit card.

booneshine outsideEntertainment – Of Course

Thursdays and Sundays (interesting choice) offer live music. For specifics, look on Booneshine’s website or social media pages. During our visit they also had a band playing outside in the beer garden.

Are Kids and Pets Allowed

Yes, friendly kids and pets are welcome. There is a large hill that children gravitate towards so bring some band-aids for scraped knees.

Are There Other Drink Options

Small selection of wine and soda. On warm days, there is also a water station out in the Beer Garden for both humans and their four footed friends.

Are Tours Available at Booneshine

Currently Booneshine does not offer any tours of their brewery. However you can ask when visiting to see if this has changed.

Where Can You Park at Booneshine Brewing

For the size of the building and beer garden, the parking is less than ideal. There are spots available on the dirt parking however, if it is during their peak times you will need to park down the road at the park and walk back (no shoulder, slightly dangerous for all you risk takers). As of July there is extra parking across the road but this may change once construction of a new building is complete in that lot.

Other Fun Facts

Once you complete your tasting experience, you are able to grab a pack of beer to go. Booneshine pre-cans their brews so there is not a wait to get your favorites packed up.

Booneshine Brewing is located in an industrial park so keep an eye out or you will pass the sign coming down the hill on the left.
